Bucknotes is setting its sights high
Ohio State football: Navy quarterback Ricky Dobbs wants to be president - cleveland.com
Also wants to become the second African-American QB to win the super bowl. Super bowls? Presidency? Does this guy plan on running against Tim Tebow in 2028?
The Columbus Dispatch : Navy's triple option tests defense
I think they'll be as ready as they can be, which will be just good enough to get them over the hump.
The Big Ten: Down and Out? - WSJ.com
Due to population shifts and whatnot. I think that in general, this article is correct, but Michigan and Ohio State raid Florida for talent. When and if Michigan returns to form, the differences between the athletes at Ohio State and Michigan and those at the upper tier of every other conference will be essentially nil. Again, I could care less about conference strength; win the big games and no one cares what conference you're from. See: USC.
Ohio State football finding increasingly fertile recruiting ground in Florida - cleveland.com
See what I mean? I ain't whistlin' Dixie, even if the staff is.
BuckeyeXtra - The Columbus Dispatch : Rob Oller commentary: Teacher in Tressel opts for learning over luck
Oller fluff about Tressel highlights a few things that can be used as ammo against the Tressel-haters you know.
John Glenn to dot 'i' with Ohio State marching band - Campus Rivalry: College BCS Football News, Recruiting, Game Picks, and More - USATODAY.com
Joins Bob Hope, Woody Hayes, Jack Nicklaus and a few other people you probably haven't heard of as the only non-band members to Dot the "I" in Script Ohio.
Buckeyes' Heyward improves; Adams to sit out - Big Ten - ESPN
Orhian Johnson, Mike Adams, Travis Howard, Jermil Martin, Aaron Gant and a few other reserves are out for Saturday's game.
Interesting Developments At Wide Receiver ($)
Darrell Hazell basically comes clean: Ohio State will be operating out of 3 WR sets as a base offense. Saine, Pryor and Herron in the backfield to go with this look = nasty.
The Road To Recovery: A 12-Step Program For The Big Ten - First and Big Ten
Conservatively, the 36,804,309,041,241,209th article about how the Big Ten can get better. Vaguely more interesting than the rest, but some of the points must be jokes - "no one to an FCS opponent (no one did last year), show the MAC who the kings of the Midwest are". Eh, what can you do. It's one of the few well-written articles on the subject, so read.

11W is excited about the Roundball team's 3-0 performance in Canada, which like Canada and all that, but apparently they've sewn up their post problems and Turner seems to be growing into the point guard role.
Oh, and damn do I feel stupid putting Oregon 12th in my preseason blogpoll entry after those shenanigans last night.

LOL!
If I’m remembering correctly — you’re a Bengals fan, but living in Northeast Ohio, I’m (naturally/frustratingly) a Browns fan. Watching Chip Kelly stand emotionless on the sideline last night as his offense was shut down reminded me of the Browns former coach and fat a$$ Romeo Crenell. It made me feel bad for Oregon fans. Hopefully that was just an off night for the Ducks, but I don’t know… Boise State was bad at stopping the run last year, and they had serious attrition in the front 7. There is no way Oregon should have looked that bad against them last night!!!
I've neve seen a team collapse so wholly
in the opener, of all things. I mean, man alive, 5 minutes with the ball in the first half?

You and me both Sam (about Oregon).
I actually thought they would be the ones to give USC its annual Pac10 in conference loss. After last nite, most likely not, especially if Blount gets the boot (which I think should happen).
So as proponents of a playoff (I think you said you were), should we now root for Boise St and perhaps say TCU both to run the table? That would create the most BCS chaos possible.
