Around SBN: Pacquiao vs Bradley: Potential Undercard Fighters

Hopelinks

- Tim May and Ken Gordon provided a fairly thorough and optimistic overview of Ohio State's spring. Highlights include the use of the word "fellows" unironically and Gordon saying the "over/under" on the team's loss total is one. Yowza. While I like what I saw from Lebron in Cleats this past Saturday (who didn't? Assholes, that's who), I'm still seeing the USC game as a relatively-certain loss and Penn State as a toss-up. Don't forget what Juice Williams did the last time he came to the Shoe, either.

- Todd Boeckman may be getting a look from yours truly's NFL team of choice this weekend. While Cincinnati really just needs vaguely talented warm bodies in case Carson Palmer's leg explodes again, I'd kinda like to see what Todd could do behind a functional offensive line. He won't get it in Cincy; at least not this year, anway, but I think with his size and a little bit of work, he could be an okay NFL no. 3. Let's not forget Joey Harrington still draws a paycheck in that league.

- The Dayton Daily News has some pre-draft fluff on Freeman. I didn't know he was Blasian.

- Doug Lesmerises saw something in the Buckeyes that screamed four losses to him prior to the spring, but apparently that something is now gone. While he concedes the offensive line has a "long way to go", he doesn't think the team looks like a four-loss team anymore. The interesting comparison he uses here is Florida 2007, the first team in modern history to field a defensive unit without a secondary, checking in at 98th overall. Said black hole contributed significant amounts of suck, most egregiously against Georgia (to the tune of 42 points) and Michigan (to the tune of 41 points, meaning Florida 2007 was easier to beat than Appalachian State 2007 HURR HURR). I'm not quite sure where he gets the comparison, though, as there is no massive attrition in the secondary as there was with Florida; we lost one star corner and a guy who devolved into a bit player. Doesn't spell disaster to me.
