Bucknotes surveys the aftermath

I'll keep this short, since 90 percent of what you will read about Ohio State football this week will be depressing, and I'd rather not subject you to the brunt of it on a Monday Morning.

Recaps, for all you masochists out there:

BuckeyeXtra - Train wreck

Official Dispatch recap

OHD recap, filled with plenty of good questions.

If It Walks Like a Duck… | Eleven Warriors

This isn't a recap, but it's a fun thread to read if you're the type who likes smashing his own testicles repeatedly with a sledgehammer.

Buckeyes stumble, bumble, fumble away Big Ten lead, 26-18, to Purdue | Ohio State Buckeyes - cleveland.com - - cleveland.com

CPD recap. Warning: this one will re-depress you.

Other news and notes:

BuckeyeXtra - The Bottom Line

No disagreement here on the offense, but too tough on the D. I know the second half was rough, but the offense did not help matters.

BuckeyeXtra - Difficult day for offensive linemen

"This isn't Mission Difficult, Messrs. Bollman and Petersen, this is Mission Impossible. Difficult should be a walk in the park for you."

Terrelle Pryor must be Ohio State's answer at quarterback | Ohio State Buckeyes - cleveland.com - - cleveland.com

Lesmerises is going to draw about as much heat for this as he does for his attempts at resume ranking, but I disagree: sticking with Pryor through thick and thin is commendable and probably necessary, but only if Pryor starts doing just some little things right. Yesterday was his arm-puntin'est day yet at Ohio State, and even his touchdown was a woeful lob that happened to finally fall in the hands of a Buckeye receiver. The guy still struggles with the read-option, is still hesitant to take hits, and his mechanics still completely collapse under even the smallest amount of pressure. There are many things that have to get corrected for him to even be on the path of becoming a great college quarterback, and if they aren't, then it's just stupid to negate the possibility of a quarterback controversy.

Ryan Kerrigan is a true junior. Excuse me while I weep softly.

Ohio State in the CapOne against LSU. Winnable?

A whole lot of nothin' for U | StarTribune.com
Meanwhile, our next opponent's offense looks roughly as miserable as our own, albeit against Penn State.

Sticking with TP until the bitter end is as much about future recruiting as it is about winning games today. JT needs to continue to sell himself as foremostly a teacher who does not give up on his most promising students.
